A little while ago I mentioned I’ve been working with the International Watercolor Society in their preparations for their biennial “Universal Love Through Art”, and the composition of their annual catalog, “Watercolor of the World”. I helped edit the President’s Message, the founder’s introduction, the Chapters’ Blurbs, the Sponsor’s Message, the Brief History of Watercolor Art, and the message about the Biennial. In addition to this I helped write the answers to interview questions conducted by a magazine, and wrote a press release which I posted the link for earlier this month.
I had been asked to submit photos of some of my favourite paintings and knew the society wanted to acknowledge my volunteer work. My only intent, in volunteering, was to help an organization that I wanted to be a part of because I liked its ideals, its methods, its focus, and its scope. Also, Atanur Dogan, the founder, is one of the nicest people I have met. But yesterday I discovered they really do reward you for your work.
Here is a link to a photo album of the pages of the catalog, which features master watercolor artists from all over the world. I am humbled by their talents. It is available for purchase from the society.
And here is a link to the page they gave me in it!!
